Every time I see a rabbit it makes me go all soppy, blame it on the permanent vet jobs that I interned at in my youth. My pet rabbit, ‘Bingo’ (so named for no obvious reason at all) was certainly not a lightweight and there were several occasions when he saw off an intruding moggy. However, when I watched this footage of Sir King Darius, it made my Bingo look like a dwarf bunny by comparison!
Some breeds of rabbit are well-known for growing to a tremendous size, but Darius really takes the biscuit (or carrot). Stretched out, he measures at four foot three inches in length and he weighs in at a colossal three stone seven pounds! He is now officially the world’s biggest bunny; a title once held by his mother, Alice. However, Alice only ever grew to an ‘inferior’ length of three foot three inches.
Darius has certainly landed on his paws as far as lifestyles go; most of his time is spent lazing around at publicity events and photo shoots. When he is not engaging in this type of activity, he is normally busy either filling his face on salad or being pampered by his loving (and probably now very rich) owners.
Although Darius gets through an enormous amount of food, he is by no means fat. In fact, any Does watching this footage will see that he is actually quite a looker! I wonder if Darius’ sheer size will inspire more children to eat up their greens?
