Touch the screen? I'll smudge it!

Well I finally took the plunge and got myself a new mobile phone. I say I took the plunge when, in fact, I was forced to upgrade my phone by my phone company as I had come to the end of my 24 month contract. As a freelance writer and artist, I thought that having a phone with email and internet on it would be helpful as a lot of my clients reach me by email. The Internet would be for important things like my paypal accounts, bank balances and, of course, facebook.

I had already decided that I would stick with Samsung, I have always had a Samsung phone and they have all been fantastic. I find them easy to use, simple and very smart in design. They are also well made and don’t feel cheap like some other phones can. Nowadays, you cant move for touch screens. I was loathe to buy a phone which was entirely touch screen, so I hunted around for something that was in between. Luckily for me, Samsung had something that fit the bill entirely.

The Tocco Ultra edition phone (in black) is gorgeous. It has a lovely large screen, a smooth slide feature that uncovers a normal keypad and a fantastic brushed steel look to it. The size is a little large, but nothing like the brick-like iPhones that I see 90% of the world carrying around. The phone is easy to use and will require a combination of keypad entry and the touch screen for the most efficiency. Using the phone only took me about an hour to get used to, I did make a few mistakes (the diamond button under the screen is a “go back”button, not a direction pad), but these were all eradicated within the hour.

The best part of the phone is the 8 mega pixel camera (which has some very neat features on it). I like to travel often and having that little beauty to take quick snaps will be very useful indeed. I have become quite accustomed to this phone basically being a storage unit for my entire, life, career, photos, phonebook, everything. All in all, this is a great phone.
